Regional Project Manager, Industrial/Commercial Solutions (Projects Group)
The Regional Project Manager, Industrial/Commercial Solutions for the Projects Group is responsible for identifying, developing and supporting all aspects of project sales in their defined territory in the USC region. The territory for this position will be Oregon, Washington State, Idaho and Northern California.
You have a technical sales background and a passion for lighting. You are articulate, organized and able to balance multiple projects simultaneously with a “can-do” attitude. You lead by example, supporting regional colleagues in their sales efforts by identifying and implementing regional initiatives to leverage project based selling opportunities. You will maintain and nurture relationships with regional and local customers, entities and organizations for the purpose of multiplying sales efforts.
Coaching and supporting colleagues is second nature to you as is the desire to expand into new products and opportunities by meeting new customers and specifiers.
Essentials Duties
Establish new relationships and business opportunities with end users, facility managers, engineers, specifiers, contractors and others for the purposes of obtaining product specifications
Develop product specifications and evaluate customer/specifiers lighting needs
Act as a trusted advisor to colleagues, industry peers and customers
Regularly keep management informed of problems, issues, and status of on-going projects
Actively participate on cross functional teams and provide feedback on product offerings
Work with CRM software consistently and update project information through the sales cycle
Ability to travel within region and nationally to meet customers in and outside of traditional business hours as needed – travel may be up to 50% of time
Exercise strong time management skills
Exude highest levels of integrity, respect, business acumen and service
Demonstrated strength in sales and negotiation with proven ability to meet set targets
Education and Experience
BS required, preferably in a technical field
Minimum five years of experience within the lighting industry, three years outside sales experience preferred
Demonstrated cold calling skills and ability to develop and execute target group relationship development
Previous lighting and control system knowledge preferred
LC – Lighting Certified preferred or ability to sit for exam within two years
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Effective planning/organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to set priorities
