Ideally, the candidate would reside in Chicago or the greater Milwaukee, Wisconsin area; however, based on the Steel Sales book of business in this region, the position offers onsite or remote work options. Duties and Responsibilities
Quote RFQs. Verbally discuss and gather all pertinent information from the customer. Review feasibility and sourcing (Stock, mill, spot). Maintain knowledge of various steel industry specifications. Enter RFQ opportunities in Salesforce. Strategize with management and outside sales on long-term program opportunities. Prospect / cold call; travel when required. Assist Customer Service Representatives, Production scheduling, and traffic coordinators as needed. Demonstrate solid working knowledge of the steel industry. Understand quality procedures for compliance. Minimum Qualifications
Steel sales experience in the industrial & manufacturing markets required (flat rolled steel preferred). Stainless steel and/or aluminum background a plus. Must be a self-starter with proven new business development success and the ability to grow existing accounts. Microsoft Office and ERP experience. Knowledge and Skills Preferred
Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and written skills. Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision. Seniority level
