
Outside Sales Representative â Renewable Energy

Your main responsibility at Astral Power will be to help us enroll residential utility customers in Community Solar. This is a state program enacted to increase locally produced renewable energy. State energy policy is laser focused on NY transitioning to 100% renewable energy on our utility grid by 2035.
Traditionally, our field staff has focused on building relationships with community organizations and businesses to run creative campaigns centered around enrolling individuals in our solar farms. You’ll be responsible for teaching residential and small businesses about the state program, managing the entire sales cycle and motivating individuals to actually enroll!

Achieving or exceeding a monthly quota of households to enroll in solar projects
Community outreach, event tabling, canvassing, networking.
Building a network of renewable energy advocates, to help you grow the solar contagion effect
Interfacing with community leaders and stakeholders to help their networks support Community Solar
Qualifications:
Previous sales or political campaign experience preferred, as is a comfort with public engagement
Passion about the mission of Astral Power
Ability to build relationships with individuals, community organizations, and small businesses
Knowledge of/relationships with community organizations in your community a plus
Willingness to work limited evenings and weekends to run events when needed
Comfort and ability to work remotely from a home office
Ability and willingness to travel locally
