Resident Engineer
Locations: Bedford, NH or Laconia, NH or Randolph, VT or Rutland, VT or South Burlington, VT or Springfield, MA or Waterbury, VT. DuBois & King, Inc. (D&K) is seeking junior to senior level Resident Engineers/Inspectors for 2026 construction projects across the Northeast. Projects involve observation of work related to utilities, roadways, highways, bridges, dams, and airports. Responsibilities
Read and comprehend construction documents (plans and specifications). Understand and work within the limits of Resident Engineer roles and responsibilities. Represent the firm in a professional manner at all times in front of contractors, owners, funding agencies, and the public. Observe and document construction progress through daily field reports, material testing, quantity tracking, and photographic record. Review periodic payment requests and change orders. Chair progress meetings and prepare minutes. Understand and enforce quality requirements in accordance with the contract documents. Communicate proactively with the project team and manage time effectively. Accept feedback in a professionally appropriate manner. Lead by example via an exemplary work ethic. Maintain regular attendance with reliable transportation. Qualifications
Five (5) years related field experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with municipal water and wastewater, NETTCP, ACI, AASHTO, VTrans, NHDOT, and/or FAA standards preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required. Compensation Range
The salary range for this position is $32 to $45 an hour. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws. About Us
