Customs Brokerage Coordinator

To provide customers with the highest quality service by ensuring consistent customer service and resolution, facilitating the timely release and/or inbound or outbound movement of freight/cargo.

Responsibilities:

Provide impeccable customer service.

Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to U.S. Customs, agents, and clients, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Anticipate, identify, and resolve issues that could delay freight release or movement.

Maintain relationships with brokers, T&B, and other service providers to exceed customer service requirements.

Resolve banking and letter of credit issues and advise customers on payment terms.

Obtain payment on delinquent accounts and complete accounting adjustments.

Resolve billing issues and coordinate post-entry activities.

Input and correct data in computer systems accurately.

Perform root cause analysis as directed.

Coordinate post-entry activities and manage entry verification.

Access external client systems as needed.

Communicate with business partners via written, phone, or email.

Produce operational trend reports and keep partners informed of exception processes.

Handle pre-alerts and respond as per SOP.

Maintain knowledge of FedEx products and services.

Interact with customers, staff, and management at all levels.

Develop strong relationships with front-line personnel of customers.

Facilitate entry processing, pre-arrival, and post-arrival exception resolution.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

HS Diploma or GED required.

At least 6 months of brokerage, transportation, or customer service experience preferred.

Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work independently.

Attention to detail and knowledge of HTS classification and U.S. Customs regulations.

Preferred Qualifications: Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. This role is HYBRID in Buffalo, NY, and surrounding suburbs.

Compensation: Pay Range: $15.07 - $23.88. Additional benefits include health, vision, dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
