EqualAccess is partnering with a growing New York-based property management firm that specializes in affordable housing. With a strong reputation for regulatory compliance, community engagement, and operational excellence, this organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced Property Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at one of its Bronx properties. Position Summary

We are hiring a

Property Manager

to lead site operations, manage staff, and ensure regulatory and tenant compliance across an affordable housing property. This is a high-visibility role for a hands-on, detail-oriented manager with experience in both resident relations and building operations. Key Responsibilities

Site & Staff Management

Oversee all day-to-day operations of the property, including administrative and maintenance teams

Supervise maintenance staff on work order tracking using Yardi; monitor completion, quality, and resident satisfaction

Conduct weekly property inspections and maintain preventive maintenance schedules with regional leadership

Track and resolve all building violations and Local Law compliance (HPD, DOB, ECB, FDNY)

Assist with annual unit inspections and maintain building safety standards

Report all property loss or liability incidents promptly to senior management

Tenant Management

Manage resident move-ins/move-outs, unit inspections, and damage reports

Oversee annual recertification processes (TIC and 59s), and collaborate with legal on non-compliance

Review aged receivables, conduct rent collection outreach, and handle lease violations

Preserve all resident and property files in Yardi and physical formats

Financial Oversight

Review and approve invoices in alignment with proper GL coding

Assist in budget preparation and financial reporting, including monthly variance reports

Legal Support

Generate late rent notices and begin 14-day rent demand processes

Coordinate with legal team on evictions, housing court appearances, and collection outreach

Maintain accurate incident records and documentation

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in affordable housing property management (Section 8, LIHTC, Mitchell-Lama, etc.)

Familiarity with landlord/tenant regulations and housing compliance

Supervisory experience across admin and maintenance teams

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; Yardi experience strongly preferred

Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)

Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills

High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred

Compensation:
