We’re seeking a dynamic and client-focused

Business Development Representative

to join our sales team. This hybrid role bridges business development and client experience, playing a key part in driving growth, strengthening relationships, and ensuring exceptional service delivery across the entire client lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development within professional or technical services, strong communication and relationship-building skills, demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding growth targets, and the ability to cultivate and maintain a robust professional network within the civil engineering or safety sectors.

Compensation:

$70,000 – 100,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Client Relationship Management:

Serve as Primary Contact : Act as a consistent point of contact for both new and existing target clients as directed by the Director of Sales, ensuring reliable communication and support throughout the client lifecycle.

Leverage Feedback : Collect, analyze, and report on client feedback to generate actionable insights that improve service delivery and inform internal teams.

Data-Driven Sales & Market Analysis:

Analyze Sales Data:

Monitor sales performance and client trends to identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities.

Monitor Market Trends:

Track industry shifts and competitor activities to support proactive outreach and strategic adjustments in business development efforts.

Manage Sales Operations:

Maintain CRM data integrity, manage opportunity pipelines, and support the creation of business development documents such as contracts, proposals, and quotes.

Facilitate Internal Alignment:

Collaborate with internal departments—including Business Development Executives (BDE’s), Project Managers, marketing, IT, and operations to ensure client needs and expectations are met consistently and efficiently. Examples of collaboration needed will include (but will not be limited to) proposal preparation, proposal submittal and follow up, whitepaper preparation and review, scoping of projects, and other essential actions to advance projects through the sales stages.

Coordinate Events:

Plan, attend, and support trade shows, conferences and client meetings to promote brand visibility and build industry relationships.

Execute Campaigns:

Assist with the implementation of targeted sales and marketing campaigns by working closely with the marketing team and tracking campaign effectiveness.

Strategic Business Development:

Pursue Growth Opportunities:

Identify, research and engage potential clients through outreach, referrals and networking to expand the client base.

Deliver Customized Pitches:

Design and present tailored proposals and pitch decks that clearly articulate the company’s value proposition to prospective clients.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:

Education:

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree or some college experience in Business Administration or a related field.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in sales, client services or business development.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Experience using CRM and BI tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, Excel, etc.).

Proven track record of supporting revenue growth and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Ability to travel regionally and attend networking events.
