Requirements (Do not apply unless all are met):

Montessori Certification (Required)

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Daycare/Preschool Director (Required)

Strong knowledge of DHS/OCDEL regulations (Required)

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, or related field (Required)

Authorized to work in the U.S.

About Us Founded in 2013 with just five students, New Horizons Montessori Academy (NHMA) has grown into a thriving early childhood center serving up to 184 children. Our mission is to nurture independence, self-confidence, and a love of learning — the Montessori way.

Position Summary The School Director is the operational and educational leader of NHMA. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual is responsible for compliance, staff leadership, curriculum integrity, and strategic growth. The ideal candidate is a strong, mission-driven leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and is deeply committed to Montessori principles.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Staff Management

Recruit, train, and mentor teaching and support staff.

Conduct classroom observations, performance reviews, and ensure professional growth.

Foster a positive, accountable school culture.

Operations & Compliance

Oversee daily operations, including before- and after-care programs.

Ensure strict compliance with DHS/OCDEL, PDE, and Health Department regulations.

Maintain enrollment, safety standards, and school records.

Refine and enforce school policies and procedures.

Curriculum & Montessori Oversight

Ensure Montessori curriculum fidelity across classrooms.

Guide lesson planning and academic calendar development.

Monitor student progress and compliance with evaluations.

Family & Community Engagement

Build strong partnerships with families, addressing concerns with professionalism.

Represent NHMA at school events, open houses, and community initiatives.

Support marketing and outreach to sustain enrollment growth.

Strategic & Financial Leadership

Report quarterly to the CEO on staffing, performance, and goals.

Assist with budgeting and financial planning.

Develop partnerships and pursue grants to support growth.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $58,000 – $70,000/year (based on experience and qualifications)

Paid Time Off: 26 days annually (20 vacation + 6 sick/personal)
