Your Mission
At Compass Rose Public Schools, we believe every student deserves access to a high-quality education, and that starts with building strong relationships with the communities we serve. We are seeking a Director of Enrollment, Attendance & Student Success who will own the vision and strategy for student recruitment, enrollment, attendance and persistence across our network that, ultimately, creates the foundation of student success. This leader is a strategic, school-savvy, community-connected operator who drives student recruitment efforts, supports enrollment completion, and ensures students stay with us year after year. The ideal candidate brings school leadership or district-level experience, understands the realities of campus life, and knows how to align family engagement systems to school goals across Texas.
The Director will set and lead our enrollment strategy to ensure:
105% enrollment by First Day of School (FDOS)
85% student persistence from August to August
93% average daily attendance (ADA) and less than 10% chronic absenteeism
Your Responsibilities
Student Recruitment Strategy & Vision
Own and implement a comprehensive student recruitment and applicant engagement strategy across campuses and regions
Lead short- and long-term planning that sets clear enrollment and attendance goals, with data as your north star
Align recruitment and persistence strategy to school operations, academic timelines, and culture priorities
Represent Compass Rose in state, city, and education reform forums to position us as a school of choice
Team Progress Monitoring
Lead with influence by supporting the success of Student Recruitment and Enrollment Specialists (SRES) without direct line management
Track SRES progress against key benchmarks and goals; synthesize and share data trends with campus operations leaders to inform weekly and monthly decision-making
Empower campus-based leaders with real-time data dashboards and actionable insights that support student enrollment, attendance, and persistence targets
Provide consistent, growth-oriented feedback to both SRES and campus teams to celebrate wins, address gaps, and drive improvement
Facilitate regular progress monitoring routines (e.g., weekly check-ins, data reviews) to ensure team alignment and accountability
Partner with hiring managers to support the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new SRES team members
Act as a strategic thought partner in problem-solving challenges and building a culture of ownership and continuous improvement across campuses
New Student Recruitment & Applicant Engagement
You are successful if you fill seats with mission-aligned families through:
Leading weekly enrollment committee calls to review data and drive action
Executing boots-on-the-ground recruitment alongside the team you lead: block walking, home visits, phone banks, and tabling at community hubs
Speaking confidently about Compass Rose’s academic model and classroom experience
Building relationships with daycare centers, housing authorities, and other anchor institutions within a 7-mile radius of campuses
Training team members for campus-led and network-wide events to generate applications
Ensuring high conversion rates from lead to applicant to enrolled student
Partnering with campus leaders on persistent engagement strategies with new families, including personalized communication, follow-ups, and warm handoffs
Student Enrollment Execution
You drive satisfaction and high-quality enrollment across the district through:
Providing families with technical support through all stages of enrollment and re-enrollment alongside your team
Monitoring compliance with state, federal, and network enrollment requirements
Owning Ascender proficiency to support application-to-enrollment conversion and training team members on the systems accordingly
Partnering with Campus Operations Leaders on annual engagement calendars
Family Communication, Resources, and Persistence
You drive student retention through strategic family engagement and systems leadership:
Serve as a Level 2 escalation point, ensuring timely, empathetic, and solutions-oriented responses to complex family needs and concerns
Proactively identify trends and root causes impacting attendance and re-enrollment, and mobilize cross-functional support to remove barriers
Co-lead the design and execution of strategic family communication journeys that elevate Compass Rose’s mission and value proposition
Equip campus persistence teams with actionable data, tools, and high-impact practices that improve student and family engagement outcomes
Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of 30/60/90-day family engagement plans across all campuses, ensuring consistency and impact
