Loan Processor
Purpose of Job Under general supervision and in alignment with the credit union’s policies and procedures, the Loan Processor ensures efficient and accurate processing of consumer loans while delivering exceptional member service. Responsibilities include collecting and verifying documents, funding loans, ensuring compliance with disclosure requirements, and providing prompt support to members, branch staff, and external partners. This role is integral in producing a high volume of high-quality consumer loans. Responsibilities
Process, fund, and disburse consumer loans, including Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOC’s), ensuring compliance with all lending regulations. Educate members on loan options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements while ensuring proper documentation is collected and validated. Efficiently handle loan inquiries from members, dealers, and internal teams, providing clear explanations and technical support. Collaborate with member advisors and branch staff to facilitate smooth loan processing and closing. Prepare DMV documents for title transfer. Identify members’ needs and handle members’ objections without assistance. Effectively manage time, urgent requests, and maintain accuracy. Willingness to take on tasks without being asked. Maintain and follow up on pending files. Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and Saturdays. Perform such other duties as they are assigned. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; college degree is preferred. Minimum two years of Consumer Lending processing experience. Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, and loan operating systems. Knowledge of consumer lending compliance and regulations. Ability to evaluate strategies, prioritize activities, and make effective use of resources. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
