Base pay range: $140,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr
Our premier CPA client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Audit Manager with expertise in the real estate sector to join their growing team.
This position requires a strong understanding of real estate accounting, regulatory compliance, and industry‑specific risks. The Audit Manager will lead engagements and collaborate with audit teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting in accordance with applicable standards.
Responsibilities
Effectively manage multiple audit engagements, timelines, and team resources. Oversee budgeting, staff assignments, and the planning and execution of engagements. Supervise Audit Seniors and Supervisors, serving as the in‑charge on complex engagements. Review audit work papers and financial statements for accuracy and compliance. Deliver high‑quality client service by managing expectations, meeting deadlines, and ensuring deliverables are aligned with firm standards. Mentor and develop staff through coaching, training, and performance evaluations. Maintain active communication with leadership regarding engagement progress and issues. Stay current on industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory updates affecting the real estate sector. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required. CPA designation is mandatory. Experience: Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in public accounting with a focus on real‑estate audits (residential, commercial, industrial, or real‑estate funds). Strong supervisory experience, with a proven ability to manage and mentor audit teams. Proficient in US GAAP, GAAS, and real‑estate‑specific accounting rules. Experience auditing rent rolls, leases, real‑estate taxes and operating expense escalations, amortization of lease costs, fixed assets, and straight‑line rent schedules. Familiarity with fair‑value appraisals for real‑estate funds is a plus. Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and audit software tools such as CCH, Engagement, Checkpoint, and PPC.
