JOB STATUS : Senior Nutrition is hiring a full-time Head Cook at our Red Wing location. Monday – Friday, 5 a.m. – 1 p.m. 40 hours per week. No evenings, weekends, or holidays.

LOCATION : Red Wing, MN

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : High school diploma or general education degree and one year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

JOB DUTIES:

Supervises, coordinates, and participates in the preparation, service, and clean-up of cooks and other kitchen personnel engaged in the food service in the Red Wing kitchen. Essential duties and responsibilities include:

Supervises and directs personnel involved in preparing, cooking, and serving menu items, and in clean-up, to assure that the food is prepared correctly, served on time, and that the kitchen is maintained in a clean, orderly manner. Participates equally in performing these tasks.

Food Delivery. Kitchen cleaning and sanitation.

Interviewing, training and evaluating performances of employees and volunteers; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Estimates food and supply needs, reviews inventory, and purchases supplies in accordance with established procedures.

Attends and participates in scheduled staff meetings and trainings to maintain food service certification and stay abreast of food service and program changes.

COMPENSATION : $18.35-$22.02. Higher starting rates are available for those with 10 or more years of direct experience. Semcac offers competitive wages and Health, Dental, and Vision insurance, 11 paid holidays, and a generous PTO plan.
