Overview
PGA Associate Level 1 preferred but not required.
If not already in the golf business, a serious love of golf as a player, a great attitude and a desire to interact and build relationships with golfers a plus.
Basic understanding of the rules of golf.
Reasonable ability to communicate in a professional manner very important.
Essential Responsibilities
Provides collection of greens fees, coordinates play times accordingly, and begins golf play, including keying the greens fees into the cash register, indicating who has paid and who has not for each tee time, and starting the golf players according to tee times and whether payment has been made.
Provides cash register reconciliation, including counting the money in the register, adding checks, credit card slips, and cash to reconcile with the register journal, and filling out the bank deposit slip.
Provides golf lessons and golf clinics, including giving golf lessons to all skill levels and ages of males and females, and conducting group clinics for adults and children in groups that cover the fundamentals of golf.
Provides tournament operations, including planning, coordinating and executing golf tournaments of all sizes, and preparing cart signs, scoreboards, rules sheets, tournament formats and scorecards for the tournaments.
Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems.
Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities.
Is punctual and timely in meeting requirements of performance, including attendance standards and work deadlines.
Benefits
This position is projected to be hourly a rate of $18 - 20/hour.
From approximately Feb-Nov, this position will be scheduled for 36-40hrs/week, with some budgeted overtime based on events and business levels.
From Nov - Feb, this position will see a reduced schedule based on Chardonnay's typically winter business levels. Scheduled hours will likely range from 18-24hrs/week, but this could vary based on business levels and work/productivity of the candidate.
If the candidate is already a PGA Associate, there will be opportunities to teach. Based on the candidate's qualifications, experience and ability to engage with our customer base, there will be opportunities to participate in clinics PGA Junior League, and junior camps based on the candidate's ability.
