Job Overview As a Field Merchandiser, you’ll work independently to showcase organization and time‑management skills, build retailer relationships, and be the face of Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels, and support fellow team members with seasonal resets and installations when needed. Occasionally you might work with products from other companies in the stores you service.
Salary and Schedule Details
Your starting pay will be $16.50 to $18.50 depending on skills and experience.
Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.
This is a part‑time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
Average weekly hours are between 2–7 hours per week.
Availability the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends, is required.
Roles and Responsibilities
Day‑to‑day engagement: Using a mobile device provided by Hallmark, restock, organize, and monitor inventory of Hallmark products within and outside the Hallmark department. Communication with supervisor, reporting time, providing feedback, and answering surveys are critical.
Holiday support: During seasonal demand peaks such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, you may be required to work additional days, extended hours, or on the holiday itself.
Department resets: Participate in installations and tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments, and resetting card sections. You’ll receive notification two weeks in advance for remodel assignments, which may include evenings or weekends.
Team collaboration: Support other merchandisers as needed in your territories.
Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding job requiring a high level of energy and sense of urgency. You will work on the sales floor and in back stockrooms, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds throughout the day and up to 50 pounds on occasion. You must kneel, squat, walk, stand, climb stairs and step ladders as needed.
Basic Qualifications
At least 18 years old.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Operates a digital handheld device to open/read documents and interpret information.
Has access to Wi‑Fi and internet.
Has consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
