Electric Distribution Planner II

to join our

Power & Manufacturing - Electric Distribution Team

at our Blacksburg, VA office.

Your Impact CHA’s distribution design engineers plan, design, and permit sustainable electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. We visualize, analyze, and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems to realize dependable, cost-effective interconnections of overhead and underground assets, improving energy delivery and grid resilience.

The Electric Distribution Planner II is a role for individuals who enjoy independent work in varied environments and have a working knowledge of electric distribution systems. Responsibilities include gaining an understanding of GIS design systems, understanding construction standards, and designing projects with guidance from senior Distribution Planners. The right candidate is a motivated self-starter who enjoys learning, collaborates with internal and external teams, is comfortable using technology, and can manage their time effectively. Travel and client service with technology are encouraged in this role.

Requirements

Associate's degree or combination of High School Diploma and work experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Valid driver's license required

Minimum of 2 years of experience required; experience with electric distribution grids preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel is required

Proficient in engineering, computational, and modeling programs such as AutoCAD, GIS, ikeGPS, and Work management System

Ability to travel locally (25%) and work outdoors in various weather conditions is required

Salary Range $28.00 - $30.00

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
