Electric
Distribution Planner I
to join our
Electric Distribution Team
in
Blacksburg, VA , where you’ll play a key role in supporting utility infrastructure projects across diverse field locations. This unique opportunity blends technical analysis with hands‑on fieldwork, offering the chance to gather data using state‑of‑the‑art equipment and contribute to the planning and design of electric distribution systems.
What You’ll Do
Travel regularly to client sites to assist in field surveys of electrical distribution networks using advanced tools and technology
Coordinate new service requests and third‑party activities to support grid modernization
Interpret as‑built documents and analyze electric distribution data using client GIS systems
What You Bring
Associate’s degree or combination of High School Diploma and relevant work experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
No experience required, but prior internships or applicable coursework in power distribution preferred
Valid driver’s license required
Experience with Distribution Design Studio (DDS) a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with ArcGIS preferred
Ability to learn new Work Management systems and technical tools such as AutoCAD and SAP quickly
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset
Ability to work in various weather conditions

Salary Range $26.00 - $29.00
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
