Job Overview
CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Electric Distribution Planner I to join our Electric Distribution Team in Knoxville, TN. This role blends technical analysis with hands‑on fieldwork, supporting utility infrastructure projects across diverse field locations.
What You'll Do
Travel regularly to client sites to assist in field surveys of electrical distribution networks using advanced tools and technology.
Coordinate new service requests and third‑party activities to support grid modernization.
Interpret as‑built documents and analyze electric distribution data using client GIS systems.
What You Bring
Associate’s degree or combination of high school diploma and relevant work experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
No prior experience required, but prior internships or coursework in power distribution preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.
Experience with Distribution Design Studio (DDS) a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with ArcGIS preferred.
Ability to learn new work‑management systems and technical tools such as AutoCAD and SAP quickly.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset.
Ability to work in various weather conditions.
