Senior Paving Construction Inspector WSP is initiating a search for a Senior Paving Construction Inspector to help oversee multiple types of urban and rural pavement rehabilitation or preservation projects with construction values ranging from $1-$25 million. This position can be based out of Waterbury, VT. The inspector will oversee various work elements including asphalt shimming, milling, reclaiming, filling, compacting, drainage improvements, striping and other incidental items. The inspector will report to the Resident Engineer, and may routinely, or periodically act as their representative, depending on experience.
Your Impact
Interfacing with contractors and attending meetings.
Mentoring or supervising other inspectors, on behalf of resident engineer, or project manager.
Complete daily reports, measure and calculate unit price quantities.
Coordinate independent material sampling and testing.
Monitor maintenance of traffic.
Take and compile photographs, for tracking of daily progress.
Who You Are Required Qualifications
High School Diploma
9 years applicable experience
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications.
Have a valid driver’s license.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field.
NETTCP HMA certifications, or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring.
Average proficiency with MS WORD Suite.
Hands‑on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar systems. Knowledge of Bluebeam.
Demonstrated supervisory skills.
Any combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications and experience will be considered.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $73,100 - $144,800
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
