Retirement Benefit Analyst – State of Idaho The Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI) is seeking a hard‑working and committed Retirement Benefit Analyst to provide world‑class customer service. This full‑time position is located in Boise, and the working hours are Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., 40 hours per week. It offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

Initiate and calculate all member retirement benefits, including benefit formulas, retirement factors, statutory requirements, taxes and direct deposits.

Process and review divorce documentation to ensure compliance with court orders.

Accurately explain statutory requirements for service credit, average monthly salary, benefit calculations and death benefits in response to member questions.

Provide over‑the‑phone customer service and assist members during in‑person meetings when the Retirement Counselor is unavailable.

Collaborate with PERSI staff to build stronger relationships with members at every step of their retirement journey and identify service improvement opportunities.

Knowledge

Supervisory practices – gained through a class, seminar, college course, or relevant work experience involving staff assignment, direction, and monitoring.

Experience

Records management – at least one year of experience monitoring records systems, identifying problems, and correcting errors.

Interpreting, applying, or explaining state or federal laws, rules, and policies – at least one year of work experience dealing with complex rules or regulations and explaining decisions.

Researching and reviewing legal documents for compliance with laws and resolving complex issues – at least one year of work experience.

Creating correspondence and documents using word‑processing software – at least one year of office experience or a relevant college‑level class plus experience.
