Job Summary Research questions regarding order status, lead times, pricing; interpret specifications and complete accurate estimates/quotes promptly; enter customer orders accurately; assist customers in filling their loads to maximize freight; provide information for parts and accessory sales and operator/installation manuals; represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times; communicate ideas and concerns related to Rugby and the sales department in a timely manner; look for opportunities to positively affect gross margin & implementing them when appropriate; other duties as assigned that will impact the department and Rugby Mfg.
Responsibilities
Research questions regarding order status, lead times, pricing
Interpret specifications and complete accurate estimates/quotes in a timely manner
Enter customer orders accurately, verifying pricing, and scheduling on the date requested by the distributor
Assist customers in filling their loads to maximize freight
Provide information for Parts and Accessory Sales and Operator/Installation Manuals
Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times
Communicate ideas and concerns related to Rugby and the sales department in a timely manner
Look for opportunities to positively affect gross margin & implementing them when appropriate
Other duties as assigned that will impact the department and Rugby Mfg.
Tools Used Computer, MS Office software and related business system software, printers, copier, calculator, and telephone.
Environment Office environment, occasional production floor to familiarize with products.
Requirements
High school or some college courses in a field related to business or equivalent experience
Previous customer service experience preferred
Ability to deal effectively and professionally by phone with customers promoting a positive company image
Strong communication/presentation skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office)
Strong technical reasoning and independent decision‑making skills
Preferred basic understanding of truck chassis, basic hydraulics and related equipment, but not required
Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to remain focused in all environments
Ability to attend and participate in required company meetings
Must be a team player that maintains high integrity
