Job Title
The person in this position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of athletics and events including event set-up, clean-up, minor custodial duties, keeping score, and general oversight of the facilities where activities are taking place. The Parks and Recreation Department serves the community by providing health, inspiration, and recreation opportunities through quality programming, facilities, and community events. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides excellent customer service to all program participants and rental holders. Complies with the City of Shelton work safety standards and procedures. Assists in all aspects of sports special events including equipment set-up and take-down and recording results. Operating independently, opens facilities, sets up required equipment, monitors adult and youth league activities, records results, and cleans, closes, and secures facilities. Assists with the overseeing of events at the Civic Center. Perform the set-up of tables and chairs as needed before each event, take-down and storage of tables and chairs after events. Work with all user groups, demonstrating a high level of tact, judgement, discretion, and professional expertise. High School Diploma or GED required. Experience with working with large groups and demonstrate experience in customer service. May have a combination of experience, education, and training that would substitute for the other requirements. COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with community groups, individuals, and staff. To have a tactful manner and clearly convey a willingness to be of service and/or be open to resolving the situation at hand. WORK SCHEDULE:
The person in this position will be required to work on a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends Work Environment

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments with occasional work performed in noisy conditions.
