This range represents a national range and the actual salary will depend on multiple factors. The position may be eligible for an annual bonus.

Position Summary Exercises independent discretion and judgment in claims handling involving complex liability issues, covering severe injury claims.

This is a remote work‑from‑home position anywhere in the state of VA.

The ideal candidate will live in close proximity to the Richmond Branch Office.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct investigations, evaluate and make recommendations regarding coverage and liability.

Handle claims involving complex liability, damages or coverages.

Negotiate with all parties or their representatives within designated authority.

Document the file and submit reports.

Identify subrogation opportunities and initiate appropriate action.

Complete required training.

Provide support for property claims during periods of heavy volume.

Train and mentor.

Travel for training may be required.

Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Additional Experience

Five years casualty claims adjusting experience or equivalent experience in the medical or legal field required.

Broad knowledge and expertise in the areas of liability coverages, laws and injuries required.

Provide support for property claims during periods of heavy volume.

Travel for training may be required.

Designations and/or Licenses

Valid driver's license required.

Completion of Associate in Claims (AIC) program preferred.
