Mortgage Field Services Inspector
FAR Inspections is seeking motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in Reno, NV. This is a 1099 independent contractor role offering predictable full‑time or supplemental income with flexible scheduling. No prior experience with mortgage field inspections is required; strong time‑management and deadline‑meeting skills are essential.
Responsibilities
Complete most inspections in 5‑6 minutes, and deliver reports within 4 days of assignment.
Determine property occupancy and report general condition using a mobile application.
Take 9+ exterior photos; capture interior photos in vacant properties (~10%).
Fill out a short form in the app.
Drive extended periods while making frequent stops within your county territory.
Qualifications
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you pay for gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Ability to manage own schedule and meet deadlines.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. Pay is a flat rate per inspection, ranging from $30 to $40 per hour depending on county and volume. Work hours vary from 20‑500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week. No mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
