Job Summary:
This position is responsible for procuring live research animals from commercial vendors on behalf of Principal Investigators, coordinating orders, managing transactions via Cayuse, and overseeing financial accountability using a P‑Card.
Responsibilities
Process PI animal purchase requests and place orders with approved vendors.
Serve as the primary point of contact for investigators regarding availability, modifications, cancellations, and standing orders.
Operate the Cayuse animal‑ordering module: order entry, confirmation, receipt documentation, delivery reporting, invoice reconciliation, and cage‑card organization.
Oversee receipt of shipments and coordinate ID documentation for Facility Supervisors, ensuring accurate record‑keeping.
Reconcile P‑Card transactions in the Works financial system monthly, ensuring compliance.
Provide front‑office support during business hours (telephone inquiries, visitor assistance).
Manage external Banner billing for animal imports, exports, and external accounts.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High‑school diploma or GED with 4 years of office support experience, or associate degree with 2 years of office support experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in managing lab animals.
Associate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
Ability to carry projects to completion, prioritize responsibilities, and manage time effectively.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Team‑work ability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and database software.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with minimal supervision.
Shift / Salary / Benefits Shift: Days, Monday – Friday Salary: $18.85–$23.56 hourly (commensurate with qualifications, Pay Band B6) Recruitment Period: Until Filled Benefits: Health, dental, life insurance, Teachers Retirement System (or optional retirement plan), vacation, sick leave, 13 paid holidays. After 6 months full‑time employees may be eligible for the Tuition Assistance Program.
