Primary responsibilities include mechanical assembly and acceptance test of stainless steel seafood processing equipment (as well as other mechanical food processing equipment); engineering drawings will be provided to guide assembly.

Responsibilities

Assemble mechanical equipment consistent with engineering drawings; document and report issues/deviations affecting form, fit or function

Perform QC check from list provided and document results

Use computer software to perform transactions and capture labor to each job

Build small assemblies and large‑scale seafood and poultry equipment and conveying systems

Build shipping/crating skids for national/international equipment shipping

Requirements

Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings

Must be able to identify and operate basic hand tools and small power tools

Must be fluent in both written and spoken English

Strong communication skills & ability to keep up with deadlines and ship dates

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent

Must have basic Math skills and have the ability to accurately read/use a tape measure

Must be able to successfully interface with a computer to access manufacturing shop floor control system

Must be willing to cross‑train in other work centers, as needed

Must be a “self‑managed” team player with a good attitude

Is detail oriented and has a passion for doing a job well

Able to work overtime; some limited travel may be required

Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift and move 50 lbs

Preference Given To Candidates With

2 years’ experience as a machine/equipment Assembly Technician or similar work experience or assembly line manufacturing.

Experience in some trade – mechanic, fabrication work, carpentry, machine tools, etc.
