Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with Valley’s mission statement and engage customers with friendly and professional service. Know all bank products and services, educate, demonstrate, and cross‑sell to existing and potential clients. Present a confident and professional demeanor to establish trust, analyze needs, and recommend appropriate products and services. Meet with customers to analyze financial needs, maximize sales opportunities, open new accounts, and discuss/sell loan products while promoting online and mobile banking. Meet service quality standards, participate in the sales referral process, and assist management in coaching and mentoring branch staff members. Perform all required transactions, use technology to provide services efficiently, maintain a cash box, and support customer use of teller, scanning, cash recycling, cash dispensing, and coin machines. Act as vault teller, ensure adequacy of branch cash, and assist staff in ordering and shipping currency and coin distributions. Assist in community events, participate and support CRA initiatives, activities, and programs. Report significant matters, issues, and unusual customer activity to the manager and maintain personal knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements. Maintain knowledge and compliance with the bank’s Code of Conduct and policies and procedures. Requirements
Required Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to write correspondence and demonstrate products and services to customers. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with customers and employees. Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision‑making skills to uncover and resolve complex customer issues. Ability to make sound decisions, including on-the‑spot decisions regarding customer transactions while weighing customer satisfaction issues with potential loss or fraud. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form. Deep understanding of retail banking and strong customer service skills with the ability to engage customers about products and services. Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and high degree of accuracy. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient computer skills. Required Experience:
High School diploma or GED and minimum 1 year of business services experience in branch banking, with knowledge of branch operations or successful completion of a Valley Retail training program. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with concentration in accounting, business, finance, economics, or a related field is preferred. Preferred Experience:
FIS/IBS (Integrated Banking Solutions). Full-time/Part-time
