As a Banking Service Professional, the Personal Banker will provide effective support of sales and service activities within the banking office, developing new business by educating existing and potential clients and exemplifying Valley’s quality service standards.
Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with Valley’s mission statement.
Educate and demonstrate bank products and services to customers and cross‑sell various products.
Analyze client needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
Open new accounts (checking, savings, certificates of deposit, IRAs) and discuss/sell loan products to existing and prospective customers.
Perform routine banking transactions and use technology (teller scanning equipment, cash recycling, cash dispensing machines, coin machines).
Act as vault teller ensuring adequate branch cash and assist with ordering and shipping currency.
Support community events and CRA initiatives.
Maintain knowledge and compliance with the Bank’s Code of Conduct, policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision‑making skills.
Ability to make sound decisions regarding customer transactions.
Proficient computer skills.
Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, high degree of accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Required Experience
High School diploma or GED and minimum 1 year of branch banking experience.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree with concentration in accounting, business, finance, economics or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Experience
Experience with FIS/IBS (Integrated Banking Solutions).
