Our client is seeking an Employee Benefits Specialist to support brokers and clients through detailed research, analysis, and execution of employee benefit programs. This role is responsible for ensuring compliant, competitive benefit solutions while delivering a high level of service throughout implementation, renewal, and ongoing account management.
Key Responsibilities Client & Broker Support Serve as a primary liaison between brokers, clients, and insurance carriers to ensure seamless account servicing and issue resolution. Support client onboarding, application processing, renewals, and ongoing service needs.
Policy & Plan Analysis Research and analyze insurance policies across multiple carriers. Compare premiums, deductibles, coverage options, and plan structures to recommend solutions aligned with client needs. Support Requests for Proposal (RFPs) submitted to multiple carriers, including open market, self-funded, level-funded, level-select, and PEO options.
Data & Reporting Analyze commissions, utilization metrics, and claims data to deliver insights that support decision-making. Prepare reports and summaries for internal teams and client presentations.
Implementation & Systems Support Assist with the implementation and optimization of CRM, quoting, and related systems. Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), help develop training materials, and gather user feedback to improve system performance.
Documentation & Compliance Prepare, review, and maintain documentation for new business, renewals, and plan changes. Ensure all recommended and selected plans comply with applicable state and federal regulations.
Client Communication Act as a point of contact for client inquiries, addressing issues related to claims, renewals, eligibility, and plan adjustments. Communicate client needs effectively to internal teams and carrier partners.
Market & Industry Research Stay current on insurance market trends, carrier offerings, and regulatory changes to provide informed guidance and recommendations.
Required Qualifications Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail. Prior experience in the insurance industry or a related field preferred. Proficiency with CRM and HRIS platforms; advanced Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, influence, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
