Collections Specialist
Overview As a Collections Specialist, you will communicate with consumers via phone and approved written correspondence to resolve unpaid accounts. You will provide thorough, efficient, and accurate updates to account files for each interaction while ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations governing the collections industry. The role requires strong customer service skills in a fast‑paced environment and performing additional duties as assigned by management.
Responsibilities
Communicate with consumers via phone and approved written correspondence to resolve unpaid accounts.
Provide thorough, efficient, and accurate updates to account files for each interaction.
Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations governing the collections industry.
Demonstrate strong customer service skills in a fast‑paced environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills
Customer service experience
Call center experience
Data entry proficiency
Ability to handle numerous inbound calls
Comfortability speaking on the phone
Collection and collections customer service experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to type and speak simultaneously
Strong attention to confidentiality and data protection
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a multi‑tasked, team‑oriented environment
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules
English required; bilingual candidates preferred
Work Environment You will work 5 days in the office with hours from 8:00 am–5:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am–4:00 pm on Friday. Your team will consist of 13 collection specialists and 1 manager. The company offers a flexible and comfortable environment that encourages growth and training, with a family‑type atmosphere and many events such as holiday parties, lunches, celebrations, potlucks, crab feasts, donation drives, food drives, and volunteering opportunities.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00–$23.00 /hr.
