Job Summary St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Respiratory Therapist RRT/CRT for our Respiratory Therapy Unit located within Ft. Thomas Hospital. This 3rd‑shift position is full‑time and requires expertise in providing safe, effective respiratory treatments and medical gas therapy in a high‑acuity environment.

Responsibilities
Administer safe, effective respiratory treatments and medical gas therapy consistent with current standards of practice.
Maintain equipment and supplies to ensure decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization.
Keep a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Follow all local, state, and federal regulations and complete required safety, infection control, and age‑specific programs.
Document and communicate the effects and effectiveness of therapy to ensure continuity of care.
Mentor students from clinical affiliates and serve as a team leader per department policy.
Assess patients’ cardiopulmonary status to implement an appropriate Respiratory Care Plan and recommend more cost‑effective or less invasive therapy when necessary.
Initiate and maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS).
Provide mechanical ventilator support to sustain patients’ cardiopulmonary function.
Conduct diagnostic tests to determine patients’ cardiopulmonary function and perform bedside spirometry for the PFT lab when needed.
Interact with internal and external customers using AIDET methodology and adhere to professionalism standards.
Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and complete annual competencies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Registered Respiratory Therapist as described by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Current mandatory certification in the state to practice Respiratory Therapy in the state where work is being performed.
Associate degree in applied science or equivalent.
Maintain credential as described in the Continuing Competency of the NBRC; failure to maintain the credential will result in a demotion transfer to Respiratory Technician until reinstated.
ACLS certification; if not already certified, will be required post‑hire.
FLSA Status Non‑Exempt.
