Position Summary: The Forest Sandusky is recruiting a PT Retail Associate. Qualified individuals must have evening, weekend, and holiday availability. The dispensary professional will guide patients through selecting the appropriate medicine, delivering education on medical cannabis products, and ensuring excellent customer service from entry to checkout.
Essential Job Functions
Register customers into the system using their patient ID card and photo identification, verify recommendations and status with the Metrc registry, confirm all required profile fields, and check guests into the POS system.
Using OARRS, verify the day’s supply when checking patients or caregivers in, recommend medication to avoid over‑administration, and ensure no over‑selling at checkout.
Adhere to doctors’ notes in the system for dosing, medication type, and administration.
Provide education to patients on product types, uses, and dosage to maximize benefits for qualifying conditions and symptoms.
Confirm that medication pulled matches the medication entered into the POS by checking product labels against the patient’s cart.
Ensure all labeling requirements are completed at checkout.
Assist patients in person and by phone with inquiries and concerns.
Educate patients on Ohio laws and regulations as outlined by Board of Pharmacy guidelines, including methods of consumption and administration.
Assist with daily inventory of cannabis and non‑cannabis products.
Communicate any activity or observations that are out of the ordinary.
Maintain compliance with applicable state and local laws throughout the sale of medical cannabis.
Support the General Manager as requested to ensure smooth daily operations in compliance with laws and regulations.
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to pass all background checks and obtain licensing as required by the Division of Cannabis Control.
Retail or hospitality experience is preferred.
Must be able to work opening, closing, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without an accommodation.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including assessment of customer needs and meeting quality standards.
Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling products or services and utilizing sales control systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with active listening.
Excellent customer service skills, maintaining composure during stressful situations.
Ability to maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software and programs quickly.
Attention to detail.
