Job Description:
Responsibilities
The Compliance Specialist is responsible, under the direction of the Compliance Manager and/or Director of Compliance to provide key compliance related services for the Related Rentals portfolio, in accordance with regulatory program and agency requirements, all company policy and procedures, and all applicable Fair Housing Laws.
Core Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with program regulatory requirements (e.g. LIHTC, Section 8, Inclusionary Housing, HOME, Tax Credit Bonds, and other programs), Fair Housing Standards
Fully process and complete initial certifications, annual recertifications, leases and lease renewals within assigned portfolio — e.g. move‑in’s, move‑out’s, transfers.
Complete and submit required compliance reports within assigned portfolio
Participate in all tax credit reviews by outside entities/agencies for properties within assigned portfolio
Maintain productive resident relations, including processing of additional occupants, transfer processing, sublet processing, etc.
Develop a full understanding of program related documentation such as Regulatory Agreements, Tenant Selection Plans, Affordable Fair Housing Marketing Plans and practices and update plans accordingly
May have participation in marketing and leasing functions related to all affordable housing programs and applications, including remarketing assessments, interviewing applicants, and processing appeals
Review Reasonable Accommodations and manage Reasonable Accommodation log to ensure compliance
Aides in other compliance leasing activities such as unit showing, lease signing, and subsidy processing
Perform additional duties as assigned
Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package. Anticipated base salary range: $60,000 – $68,000 Discretionary Bonus. Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.

Qualifications
This role is in‑person 5 days a week
A minimum of one to two years of experience in LIHTC property management required
Accredited housing certification required: Low income Housing Tax Credit
Knowledge of NYC rent stabilization
NYS Notary License – Preferred (must be willing to obtain within 3 months)
Detail oriented and organized
Strong communication and analytical skills
Experience with Yardi, One‑Site/Real Page (or other housing software) is a plus
Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) is a plus
Creativity and initiative to work both independently as well as within a team while able to perform in a busy, changing, multi‑tasking work environment
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word Office Suite
Bi‑lingual a plus but not mandatory
Section 8 (voucher or project based) is a plus
