Overview

Project Executive I - Energy Storage at Mortenson. This leadership role provides overall management for large projects within the Energy Storage Group, overseeing project teams, contract administration, financial performance, and strategic planning. You will mentor project managers and engineers, drive project success from pre-construction through close-out, and maintain strong customer relations. Responsibilities

Lead the execution of utility-scale renewable energy projects from development through completion. Establish and maintain successful customer and/or community relationships. Oversee contract negotiations, change orders, and risk management strategies. Ensure projects meet or exceed safety, quality, schedule, and budget expectations. Collaborate with business development teams to support proposal efforts and win new work. Monitor project financials, including cost forecasting, billing, and profitability analysis. Represent Mortenson in industry forums and client meetings as a thought leader in renewable energy construction. Conduct key customer service visits throughout the project, from pre-construction client surveys to close-out, ensuring commitments are met and issues are resolved. Preview proposals before submission and participate in the Request for Proposal process. Act as primary customer contact for all assigned projects. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and community stakeholders. Support business development initiatives in establishing and building client relationships. Provide oversight and accountability for large project(s). Manage contract administration including terms, change requests, invoices, and progress payments. Establish and implement project objectives and procedures. Maintain project budgets, costs, and pricing to ensure profitability. Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability. Review work of Senior Project Managers and Project Managers assigned to projects. Mentor and manage team members, establishing and fostering a collaborative environment. Develop team members for future career consideration and training opportunities. Foster effective collaboration across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels. Lead by example with coaching, feedback, and performance management. Other duties as assigned. Provide high-level management of quality, risk, safety, and compliance for the project and team members. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field. Minimum 10 years of experience in construction management overseeing large projects ($70M+). Proven ability to manage development to closeout for multiple, complex projects. Detail-oriented with ability to organize and manage multiple tasks. Experience in Energy Storage, Solar or Emerging Renewables, or electrical transmission and distribution fields. Understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices. Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level. Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills. Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies. Current driver’s license. Compensation and Location

The base pay range for this role is $164,000 - $246,000. Variations may apply by office location (e.g., Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Washington, D.C.). Base pay reflects knowledge, skill, experience, and internal equity. Other Information
