Job Description Join a dynamic team as a Mechanical Engineer where you will play a critical role in evaluating sales order requirements and specifications to configure and develop innovative solutions. You will collaborate closely with sales teams and customers to resolve requirements and work with electrical engineers and drafting teams to produce customer drawings. As the technical lead on assigned projects, you will engage with internal groups such as assembly, procurement, and field technicians during start-up to resolve any issues and ensure seamless project execution.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and develop solutions based on sales order requirements and specifications.

Collaborate with sales and customers to resolve requirements.

Produce customer drawings in collaboration with electrical engineers and drafting teams.

Act as the technical lead on assigned projects.

Work with internal groups during start-up to resolve project issues.

Approve project release to manufacturing.

Work with assembly and test departments to resolve issues encountered during build and test.

Participate in a project team to deliver cost-effective, manufacturable designs.

Provide updates on project status and timelines.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

5 years in designing and developing electro‑mechanical equipment.

Experience in designing sheet metal products.

Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, preferably Creo.

Experience with OEM design activities.

Experience with bill of materials (BOMs).

Experience with casting, compressors, pumps, and/or motors.

Project management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Electrical testing.

Knowledge in noise attenuation (fan silencers).

Customer experience.

Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).

Understanding of seismic, wind, and vibration calculations.

Work Environment The work environment includes a recently opened office near the manufacturing facility, where you will join a team of over ten engineers. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing company that has recently developed a high‑demand product, contributing to significant sales growth. Average project tenure ranges from six months to two years, focusing on highly customizable load banks.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 – $58.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
