Job Overview We are seeking a CEI Senior Inspector who will be responsible for ensuring that the contractor’s work on a project is being completed according to project design specifications and FDOT/Client quality standards. The Senior Inspector will perform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying, construction layout, checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests. The Senior Inspector also manages lower-level inspectors, reports field activity to the Project Manager/Administrator, and maintains proper documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Safe operation of company vehicle
Work on uneven terrain
Frequent use of ladders
Haul equipment and materials up to 40 lbs
Work in inclement weather conditions
Work independently
Perform repetitive bending/lifting, including overhead work
Work nighttime and weekend hours when required
Work on your feet 8 hours a day
Perform overtime work when required
Make field measurements and calculations
Outdoor working environment
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED
4+ years FDOT experience specific to CEI project activities (soil, concrete, steel, and bridges)
Understanding of FDOT construction project administration methods and processes, including training in MAC, BlueBeam, Hummingbird, and Site Manager programs
CTQP Certification in Asphalt, Concrete, Earthwork, pile driving and drilled shafts
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, identify discrepancies and/or conflicts, solve problems and develop documentation
Ability to utilize survey equipment to verify field measurements and survey grades during construction, including use of GPS Rovers and Base system, to provide real-time feedback on construction services
Ability to accomplish goals with minimal supervision and provide guidance and direction to staff inspectors
Ability to work as part of a team
