Mechanical Engineer (Simulation & Training Systems)
Overview
We are seeking a
mid-level Mechanical Engineer
to support the completion and production of
physical training and simulation systems
used in technical and industrial environments. This role is execution-focused and ideal for an engineer who enjoys taking
partially complete designs
and driving them to
manufacturing-ready delivery . The engineer will support the finalization of mechanical designs, produce detailed drawing packages, and assist with build and production readiness for standalone training systems.
This is
not an R&D role
— success is measured by
speed, accuracy, and clean execution .
What You’ll Be Doing
Complete and finalize
mechanical drawing packages
Develop detailed layouts, assemblies, and fabrication drawings in
Autodesk Inventor
Prepare designs for
manufacturing and production
Support prototype builds and initial production (“bending metal”)
Collaborate closely with
Electrical Engineers
on:
Cable routing
Wire management and strain relief
Mounting of terminal blocks and test points
Participate in design reviews, testing, and integration activities
Troubleshoot mechanical issues in lab and build environments
Maintain documentation and configuration control using
Autodesk Vault
Track tasks and progress using
Jira
in a delivery-focused workflow
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5–10 years
of mechanical engineering experience
Strong experience producing
complete, build-ready drawing packages
Proficiency with
Autodesk Inventor
(required)
Experience with
Autodesk Vault
or similar PDM/PLM tools
Comfort working hands-on with hardware, assemblies, and builds
Ability to collaborate effectively across mechanical and electrical disciplines
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in an
office-based environment
Nice to Have
Experience supporting
training systems, simulators, or industrial hardware
Familiarity with
aviation or electrical systems
(wiring, harnesses, terminal blocks)
Exposure to
Costpoint
or MRP/logistics workflows
Experience supporting systems through
CDR and into production
