Vehicle Condition Assessor – CarMax
Location: Louisville, KY – 9550 Bluegrass Pkwy, Louisville, Kentucky, 40299.
Overview We are building an exceptional customer experience by ensuring accurate vehicle condition assessments. As part of the Purchasing team, you will gather the information needed for Buyers to generate precise appraisal offers, communicate clearly with business partners and customers, and help every customer leave satisfied with their car selling experience.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct accurate vehicle condition assessments, gathering cosmetic, mechanical, and option details for appraisal.
Accurate optioning during assessments and inventory management.
Perform timely imaging of retail and wholesale vehicles for the CarMax website.
Complete vehicle secures and verify appraisal entries for discrepancies.
Conduct vehicle walkarounds and communicate details promptly.
Assist Merchandising with inventory maintenance and customer transfers.
Finalize condition verifications on inventory acquired through online customer channels.
Support wholesale auction preparation and operation.
Partner with Inventory and Sales for lot merchandising.
Assist on‑boarding of new associates and handle other assigned tasks.
Qualifications & Skills
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to follow detailed, standardized processes.
Proficient in data transcription and record maintenance.
Strong multi‑tasking in fast‑paced environments.
Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers.
Collaborative team player across departments.
Complete all required Workday training.
Working Conditions
Requires walking, bending, kneeling or standing for extended periods.
May work outdoors or in inclement weather for several hours.
Flexible hours – shifts may include nights, weekends, holidays.
Must wear CarMax work clothing during store operations.
Adhere to all CarMax policies (Attendance, Time Recording, Asset Protection, EH&S, Professional Appearance).
