Overview
Oversees and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, machining, reverse engineering, installation and repair of pumping equipment.
Activities may involve but are not limited to project management, reverse/design engineering, root cause analysis, quoting/estimating, logistics, customer service, ROI evaluation, Field Service coordination.
Typical Functions
Researches and analyzes data, such as inspection reports, cost analysis, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of repair or replacement.
Designs parts or assemblies, writes repair instructions, evaluates equipment components for repair/replacement by applying specialized knowledge of engineering principles.
Plans and oversees personnel in inspection, evaluation, fabrication, machining, and assembly equipment. Ensures pumps/systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
Coordinates vendors and repair activities to obtain optimum efficiency in the repair process of equipment.
May design products and systems to interface existing pump designs.
Uses Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and/or other programs for design data processing, layouts, reverse engineering, and for developing designs.
May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
May specialize in specific field of mechanical engineering, such as heat transfer, hydraulics, controls and instrumentation, tooling, or in type of product, such as propulsion systems or machinery and mechanical equipment: or in type or work, such as steam or gas generation, steam plant engineering, or system planning.
