Ultrasonic Level II Inspector The Ultrasonic Level II Inspector is responsible for performing advanced ultrasonic inspections on composite aerospace components in accordance with NAS410 requirements.

Position Summary This role requires strong familiarity with the scope and limitations of ultrasonic testing methods, particularly within aerospace applications. The inspector is expected to independently conduct inspections, accurately report results, and support on‑job training (OJT) for trainees and Level I personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains written quality requirements in accordance with Arcadia procedure manuals and customer specifications.

Establishes work instructions and technical data sheets for inspection program setup and processing, and submits documentation to the Level III for approval.

Accepts or rejects customer products based on provided standards; records and reports specific inspection data.

Interprets and implements customer specifications and standards.

Assists in training and qualifying trainees and Level I personnel through established OJT practices.

Expands knowledge of applicable NDT methods in preparation for future Level I, II, or III certifications.

Qualifications

Sufficient education, training, and experience to ensure qualification in Ultrasonic Testing.

Previously certified to UT Level II or certifiable per NAS410 requirements.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Skills

Ability to utilize mathematical formulas.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Ability to follow safety regulations.

Computer literacy with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to read and understand technical documents.

Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to assist in maintaining KAIZEN 6S discipline:

SORT – Remove all non‑essential items.

STRAIGHTEN – Arrange items for easy visibility and access.

SHINE – Keep work areas clean and maintain cleanliness daily.

STANDARDIZE – Create rules to maintain the first three S’s.

SUSTAIN – Prevent deterioration of 5S activities.

Ability to use material handling equipment.

Willingness to cross‑train in other NDT methods if required.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Flexibility to work any shift and overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

Regular standing, walking, sitting, handling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing.

Occasional climbing or balancing.

Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs unassisted; occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance.

Requires close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Mental Requirements

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operations instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine technical reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups.

Ability to perform mathematical operations including fractions, decimals, and percentages.

Ability to interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense to follow written, oral, or diagram-based instructions.

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.

Occasional exposure to heights, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, outdoor weather, extreme temperatures, and vibration.

Typically loud noise levels.
