Claims Specialist – Primary Casualty

Investigate, analyze, and evaluate primary claims for AXIS U.S. Primary Casualty policies. Assess claims to determine coverage, liability, and settlement value. Evaluate coverage and claim exposure, determine appropriate actions, and pursue claims until resolution. Set accurate and timely claim reserves and refer to Claim Manager when necessary. Manage the lifecycle of a claim from notification to closure, ensuring timely and accurate resolution. Review relevant policies, validate coverage for claims by analyzing policy wordings, and expand identified issues. Draft coverage positions for approval by Claim Manager. Work closely with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and brokers to maintain premier claim service, escalating issues as appropriate. Qualifications
Recognized as a subject matter expert in claims within a specialization area. Ability to interpret and apply policy provisions accurately in varied claim scenarios. Strong coordination skills with internal teams to review and enhance claims processes. Experience managing the complete lifecycle of claims with attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in collaborating with external parties to gather information and resolve claims. Commitment to continuous professional development in claims management. Skill in implementing strategies to improve claims handling efficiency and customer satisfaction. Strong documentation ability to record claim activities and decisions for audit support. Role Factors
The role requires on‑site presence in the office 3 days per week and adherence to AXIS licensing requirements. Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $75,000 – $130,000, commensurate with experience and location. Competitive target incentive compensation based on corporate and individual performance.
