Job Description The Mechanical Engineer I will support the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical components and systems, working in close collaboration with experienced engineers and cross‑functional teams. This is an entry‑level position meant for a driven individual eager to expand their technical expertise, embrace innovative solutions, and contribute to projects across various stages of development.

Job Duties & Responsibilities KRA 1 - Mechanical Design and Development

Assist in mechanical system, component, and product design.

Develop detailed drawings and specifications while ensuring adherence to design standards and best practices.

Use CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PDM) to develop accurate models and documentation.

KRA 2 – Documentation and Compliance

Maintain detailed project documentation: drawings, specs, test reports, catalogs, and schedules.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and company policies.

Follow SOPs and filing protocols for project lifecycle consistency.

KRA 3 – Cross‑Functional Collaboration and Communication

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams: electrical, applications, project management, procurement, technicians, parts, and field service.

Communicate effectively with team members, leadership, and customers.

Provide timely updates and solutions to internal and external stakeholders.

KRA 4 – Continuous Improvement and Professional Development

Support continuous improvement initiatives within mechanical engineering.

Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices.

Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to build upon foundational skills.

Support company initiatives like the Viking Masek Value Proposition.

Contribute to a culture of problem‑solving, discipline, and accountability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, associate's degree with 2+ years of experience, or 5+ years of experience with no degree.

Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate design.

Ability to use various precision measuring instruments.

Ability to use Microsoft Office software, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PDM and various Viking Masek systems.

Desired Skills

Familiarity with the packaging industry.

Experience in client‑facing interactions.

Ability to travel to customer or vendor sites as needed.
