Position Summary The general function of this job is to set up, changeover, improve, and maintain the production equipment condition such that quality and quantity standards are met or exceeded. Responsibilities include training and developing operators, providing on‑floor leadership, and ensuring compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Regular, punctual attendance and the ability to read, write, and converse in English are essential.
Duties / Responsibilities
Perform changeovers and set up equipment properly.
Keep equipment running in good state of repair to meet production and quality standards.
Generate accurate maintenance and other records as required by management.
Maintain machine cleanliness and perform preventive maintenance.
Provide coverage for absent operators.
Assist operators during break times.
Actively participate and lead teams—scheduling, process improvement, safety, and continuous improvement.
Work safely, handle chemicals properly, and ensure safety of workmates.
Comply with other requests made by management.
May work in a clean room environment and follow GMP rules.
Perform other duties as required to support business needs.
Education
High School diploma or GED required.
Associate’s degree in a mechanical related field preferred.
Experience
Mechanical skills, education, or background required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Mechanical ability – Proficient.
Troubleshooting and problem solving – Proficient.
Hand tool and gauge knowledge – Proficient.
Independent thinking – Proficient.
Teamwork – Proficient.
Leadership skills – Proficient.
May require respirators and annual fit testing.
