Overview
Human Resources Generalist – First Shift – Building Construction Products (BCP) Division – Caterpillar Inc.
Location: Sanford, NC. This position requires an onsite work schedule five days a week. Relocation is available.
Responsibilities
New employee orientation and onboarding.
Liaison with Regional and Corporate Human Resources, Compensation + Benefit, and Payroll to resolve personnel, wage/salary, and benefit related issues.
Administer performance management processes and communicate HR related material.
Analyze and communicate employee insights survey data and support the annual succession and career planning processes.
Assist with payroll administration, time and attendance, and Workday related activities.
Support learning initiatives and track metrics for HR functions.
Manage process changes, new processes, and new customers to ensure correct approval levels are determined.
Oversee code of conduct, EEO administration, and internal investigations; support temporary layoffs, EIS & pulse management, and unemployment insurance claims processing.
Qualifications
Knowledge of the organization’s vision, structure, and culture; ability to align capabilities with business goals.
Decision‑making and critical‑thinking skills; ability to analyze situations and reach productive decisions.
Effective communication skills and interpersonal relationships; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups constructively.
Data gathering and reporting proficiency and HR policies, standards, and procedures knowledge.
Experience with employee relations and understanding of legal requirements for employee negotiations.
Strong knowledge of HR function and ability to uphold industry standards and policies.
