Insurance Agent (Base salary + Uncapped commissions)
Comparion Insurance Agency is seeking a full‑time Insurance Agent to work in South Portland, ME. The role is not remote and requires building a local network and in‑person relationships within the community.
Compensation Base salary: $55,000 – $65,000 per year Typical first‑year total compensation: $55k – $75k (base + bonuses + uncapped commissions) Top performers may earn over $100k in the first year
Responsibilities Develop and manage a pipeline of prospects through local community engagement Qualify prospects and close sales of auto, home, life, and other insurance products Maintain client relationships, ensuring service and support throughout policy lifecycle Attend in‑office meetings and training sessions, and manage administrative tasks
Qualifications Prior sales experience with a proven track record of turning prospects into customers State insurance license in Property & Casualty and Life, or willingness to obtain one with training Effective written and oral communication, presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with people in community Strong time‑management, organization, and self‑motivation High adaptability, resilience, and willingness to learn insurance coverage and underwriting guidelines
