What You Will Contribute The Senior Systems Administrator leads the design, implementation, and optimization of our on‑premises and cloud infrastructure. This role manages critical systems, oversees backups and data management, and maintains high availability and compliance. You will coach and guide others, resolve technical escalations, and support IT projects and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
Maintain, monitor, and optimize servers, storage, and cloud infrastructure.
Install, update, and provision operating systems; manage firmware and performance/capacity optimization.
Plan, approve, and implement critical software and enterprise application upgrades.
Configure and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
Design, implement, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, firewalls, switches, and ISP connections.
Manage Active Directory, domain controllers, DHCP/DNS, and group policies.
Resolve escalated network and directory issues and recommend operational improvements.
Ensure high availability, compliance, and alignment with IT standards.
Oversee physical and virtual backups, recovery testing, and storage systems.
Manage SAN storage, server storage, and SQL databases.
Develop and maintain backup/recovery procedures aligned with business continuity.
Coach and support direct reports; provide hands‑on resolution for escalated tickets.
Maintain accurate system documentation and collaborate with other IT teams.
Requirements
Analytical problem‑solving, hands‑on technical skills, mentoring capability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Responsibility horizon: annual to biannual.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field; equivalent experience.
5–8 years of systems administration experience with servers, networks, backups, storage, and cloud systems.
Strong proficiency in server, network, and storage administration, including backup/recovery, AVD, and troubleshooting.
Preferred certifications: Microsoft Azure Administrator, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, CompTIA Network+, Server+.
Preferred Qualifications
Make technical decisions for servers, networks, storage, and enterprise applications.
Approve implementation of system updates, upgrades, and configuration changes.
Guide and authorize others on escalated tasks, troubleshooting, and project execution.
