Responsibilities

Deliver respiratory care to all age groups.

Assist in orientation and training of new staff and act as a resource.

Cross‑train in other areas and float to fulfill hospital needs.

Participate in QI studies, in‑services, and departmental meetings.

Recognize stroke signs & symptoms; call stroke alert; verbalize stroke alert process.

Assess and maintain airway, assist with intubation, transport intubated stroke patients.

Maintain currency in stroke knowledge via annual 1‑hour online training.

Qualifications

Graduate of an AMA‑approved program.

Current registered respiratory therapist license in Florida.

Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications.

Minimum 1 year acute‑care hospital experience, including adult critical care.

NICU Level III experience preferred.
