The Role: Inside Sales Engineer An inside sales engineer is a core member of the commercialorganization who supports the sales process and cycle of products or servicesto customers over the phone, email, or online platforms. They are responsiblefor generating leads, qualifying prospects, formulating budgetary proposals,re-engaging opportunities, and maintaining customer relationships. An InsideSales Engineer can be the critical first point of contact for PTI. In this role, you will work with prospective customers to identify salesopportunities and work in partnership with the Sales Team to drive future revenues.Thisrole will require the application of a wide range of basic academic knowledge, such as physics, knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, statistics, as wellas practical thinking and creativity.

Skills & Qualifications:

1. A bachelor's degree in engineering or sciences preferred

2. Interest & experience in the Life Sciences, Food, Beverage, & Nutrition manufacturing environments

3. Experience with quality, regulatory, and packaging subject matters Prepare and deliver proposals, quotations, and contracts tailored to customer requirements.

4. Excellent Interpersonal Skills and ability to work professionally with customers

5. Proven experience in inside sales, telemarketing, or customer service

6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team

7. Proficiency in using CRM software, MS Office, and other sales tools

8. High motivation, resilience, and goal orientation

9. Adaptability, flexibility, and willingness to learn

10. Ability to travel up to 30%

What are the duties of an inside sales engineer? An inside sales engineer performs varioustasks to achieve sales goals and satisfy customer needs. Some of the key duties& responsibilities of an inside salesperson are:

Conduct weekly territory lead reviews with the sales team to monitor pipeline health and activity.

Support lead qualification activities and ensure timely follow-up on all incoming leads.

Manage and nurture cold, warm, and hot leads through consistent engagement and communication.

Mine existing CRM data and lead databases to identify new opportunities and re-engage lost or abandoned prospects.

Oversee CRM data governance to ensure accurate, complete, and up-to-date records.

Perform account mapping to support sales strategy development and identify key decision-makers.

Sales Process Support

Manage all spare parts quotation activity and order processing through the ERP system, ensuring accuracy, timely follow-up, and coordination with the service and operations teams.

Work closely with Sales and Engineering teams to define technologies, hardware/software needs, product sample testing, and inspection system requirements for customer applications.

Assist in lab work, product demonstrations (virtual or on-site), and technical evaluations.

Research and identify potential customers and target markets.

Prepare and deliver proposals, quotations, and contracts tailored to customer requirements.

Present product features, benefits, and value propositions while addressing technical or commercial objections.

Provide aftermarket quotation support and follow-up to drive service revenue.

Collaborate with marketing to execute microcampaigns, promotions, and lead-generation initiatives.

Support communications and opportunity development with select sales channel partners.

Coordinate with regional sales managers to support identification of key regional activity & event planning.

Maintain accurate opportunity data, contact information, and activity logs in CRM.

Monitor and analyze key sales metrics, pipeline movement, and lead conversion rates.

Provide consistent reporting and feedback to sales management on trends, gaps, and areas for improvement.

Build and maintain long‑term relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals.

Partner with sales leadership to refine strategic sales approaches and optimize overall process efficiency.
