Maintenance Trades Helper

Provide facilities maintenance support to LSA Freedom and LSA Liberty aboard Fort McCoy, WI.
Responsibilities
Assist trades staff with routine maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and systems.
Carry tools, materials, and supplies to and from job sites.
Prepare and clean work areas before and after tasks.
Operate basic hand and power tools safely.
Perform simple tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, or assembling / repairing furniture.
Assist with inspections and testing of equipment and systems.
Load and unload equipment or materials from trucks or storage areas.
Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate protective equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shops and storage areas.
Report any hazards, malfunctions, or needed repairs to supervisors.
Perform limited snow removal in common use areas.
Mow grass and weed areas within the LSA’s perimeter fence and Entry Control Point.
Trim grass and weeds around trees, shrubs, buildings, tents, fences, poles, posts, fire hydrants, parking lot bumpers, boulders, and all other fixed objects that project above the ground.
Remove Debris and Litter from the Grounds.
Qualifications
The ability to work in the U.S. permanently without sponsorship.
A High School diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of seven (2) years of experience in general maintenance.
Practical skills in and working knowledge of general maintenance trades.
Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills quickly.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in physically demanding environments.
Strong work ethic and reliability.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
