Base pay range:

$20.16/hr – $30.28/hr

Since 1929, we have served the Big Bear Valley community, offering electric power to approximately 24,750 customers, including over 1,500 commercial, industrial, and public authority clients such as the Bear Mountain and Snow Summit ski resorts. We maintain a comprehensive wildfire mitigation program, leverage cutting‑edge technology, and pursue a greener energy supply portfolio.

This position requires residency in our service area.

Position Definition This is an entry‑level Customer Service Representative I position responsible for handling customer requests, inquiries, and complaints. You will interact with customers in person or via telephone to provide information and address their needs.

Accountability The incumbent ensures timely intervention on all customer service procedures and policies, investigates and resolves escalated and complex customer concerns, and collaborates with internal and external resources. You will embrace new technologies, strive for process improvements, and meet all goals and deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Handle customer inquiries in accordance with company procedures and policies.

Respond quickly and accurately to routine customer requests, inquiries, and complaints.

Provide customer contacts in person, by telephone, or via written correspondence.

Provide accurate and timely information in response to customer service requests or complaints, including billing, payments, credit arrangements, adjustments, service requests, meter information, rate schedule changes, and coordination with engineering and construction.

Efficiently utilize the Oracle CC&B CIS system to update customer information, create new accounts, generate and complete field activities, review meter reads in preparation for billing, and post customer payments.

Accurately document customer interactions in real time.

Provide customer support during high‑volume periods, outages, and emergency events while maintaining professionalism and composure.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous electric or utility industry experience.

Ability to calculate a bill based on rates.

Intermediate math skills.

Bilingual skills are desirable but not required.

Compensation Information The compensation range provided is in compliance with state‑specific laws. Multiple factors determine the actual starting rate of pay for all positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job‑related factors.
