Job Description Wood is recruiting a Lead Estimator who will develop project estimates to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements, Wood policies, procedures, and standards. The role will act as the focal point for estimating support to the project/contract team and client.

Responsibilities
Verify and approve the Basis of Estimate for project cost estimates for wider approval.
Develop, issue, and maintain project cost estimates in accordance with the Basis of Estimate.
Facilitate and chair the internal review of project cost estimates, ensuring updates are actioned and estimate approval obtained.
Review and deliver estimates to Wood management and the client for approval.
Ensure updates to projects cost estimates are completed in a controlled manner.
Liaise with other Project Controls disciplines to align budgets and schedules.
Liaise with engineering, procurement, subcontract and construction functions to maintain awareness of costs of labor, plant, equipment, materials, and other provisions.
Accountable for the formal filing of project and proposal estimates and the continuous update of estimating databases.
Review and issue change orders in accordance with change notifications.
May review and communicate cost and schedule impact of change notifications.
Lead and participate in Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews.
Mentor and develop estimating personnel.
Ensure estimates comply with Wood processes, procedures, and guidelines.
Promote the use of standard estimating systems, procedures, and work methods.
Develop project‑specific estimate plans, schedules, and basis within the project team.
Supervise and manage a team in developing concept, factor, semi‑detailed, and detailed cost estimates.
Mentor and coach estimating team members.
Review and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
Perform detailed quantitative, cost, and productivity analysis.
Plan, schedule, and lead the estimate review and presentation process.
Present estimates to Wood and Client management.
Maintain and support historical estimating databases, escalation indices, and productivity data.

Expected
5–10 years of progressive industry experience, with at least five years in estimating positions for industrial projects.
Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques and systems.
Excellent understanding of project management principles and techniques.
Excellent understanding of cost management, change control, planning, and risk analysis & management.
